Our Commitment

Healthcare compliance programs set a positive corporate tone, prevent employee misconduct, and most importantly protect patient safety and privacy. It is critical that every employee is aware of Southeast Orthopedic Specialists’ compliance program and feels comfortable utilizing the compliance reporting mechanisms in place. Compliance violations, such as HIPAA breaches, can have legal and financial penalties for both individuals and corporations. Reporting compliance violations in a healthcare setting is critical to the safety and well-being of Southeast Orthopedic Specialists’ patients and the individuals exhibiting the noncompliant behavior.

Reporting Compliance Concerns

Southeast Orthopedic Specialists has established a dedicated compliance line which is a reporting mechanism for identifying improper, fraudulent, or illegal conduct of company employees, vendors, or independent contractors. If you ever have a question about a legal or ethical requirement or if you become aware of another employee's breach of his or her legal or ethical responsibility, you should first consult your direct supervisor. However, some instances may deter reporting your concern to your immediate supervisor. This may be due to a fear of intimidation or retaliation or perhaps the perception of a lack of corrective action. You may even feel that it is simply not worth getting involved. However, if you allow these concerns to prevent reporting, the problem may go unnoticed. This poses a significant risk to our company. The Compliance Hotline allows employees to report concerns outside the general administrative process. Our third-party hotline, EthicsPoint, ensures confidential reporting by employees, patients, research participants, vendors and community members. It is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Please know that our company is very concerned about our compliance with federal, state, and other regulations governing our industry. If you ever have a concern, we want to know about it.
